A woman in Brazil took her deceased uncle’s body in a wheelchair to a bank in order to secure a loan. According to the British newspaper Daily Mail, this incident occurred at a bank in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where a woman brought the corpse of a man in a wheelchair to obtain a loan of around $3,000.
Footage that went viral on social media shows the woman pushing the wheelchair with the deceased man’s head raised in front of bank employees, arousing suspicion among them. One employee voiced concern, saying, “I think this is illegal, it doesn’t look right, his color is already yellow.” To which the woman replied, “This is how it is.”
Woman accused of wheeling dead ‘uncle’ into bank to sign loan
The woman then addressed her deceased uncle placed on the chair, saying, “If you’re not feeling well, I’ll take you to the hospital. Do you want to go to the hospital again?” Meanwhile, a bank employee recorded a video of the woman signing loan documents with her uncle’s corpse.
In the video, the woman can be heard saying to her uncle’s body, “Uncle, are you listening? You have to sign, I can’t sign for you.”
After witnessing this, the employees immediately called an ambulance and the police. Paramedics confirmed that the 68-year-old man had passed away several hours before being taken to the bank.
According to the police, the woman has been arrested. She informed the police that she is the deceased man’s niece and had been taking care of him. The police have sent the body for post-mortem to determine the cause of death and have initiated an investigation into the matter.
