Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Minister of Defense, Major General (Engineer) Talal bin Abdullah Al-Otaibi, has arrived in Pakistan on an official visit. On Wednesday, a high-level delegation from Pakistan warmly welcomed Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Minister of Defense, Major General (Engineer) Talal bin Abdullah Al-Otaibi.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Defense of Pakistan, “The Saudi Deputy Minister of Defense has arrived in Pakistan for a two-day visit. During the visit, bilateral projects related to defense will be finalized.”

The Saudi Deputy Minister of Defense will also meet with the Army Chief General Qasim Munir during his visit. Discussions during the meeting with the Army Chief will cover a range of defense-related matters between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, including defense training and defense matters under consideration.

Additionally, there will be an exchange of views to further expand defense relations. Just a day earlier, on Tuesday, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and his delegation of Pakistani ministers concluded their two-day visit and returned home.

During the visit, the Saudi Foreign Minister held meetings with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and members of the ISI. The Saudi delegation included Saudi Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture Engineer Abdulrahman Al-Fadli, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Al-Khorayef, Advisor to the Royal Court Mohammad Al-Tuwaijri, Deputy Minister of Investment Engineer Ibrahim Al-Mubarak, Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki, and representatives from the Saudi Ministry of Energy and the Public Investment Fund.

During the initial discussions, the Prime Minister extended Eid greetings to the cabinet and prayed for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan through the blessings of Ramadan.
He said that he is grateful to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for the special interest shown by him. Following my recent visit, a Saudi delegation visited Pakistan.

The Prime Minister, while acknowledging the successful visit of the Saudi delegation to the federal cabinet and relevant authorities, said that the Saudi delegation was impressed by the preparations of Pakistani ministers and officials, and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud expressed this sentiment. As a result of the visit of the Saudi delegation, billions of dollars of investment will be made in Pakistan.

He said that we have to ensure the influx of this investment into Pakistan and the completion of projects through hard work and dedication. In this regard, there is no room to follow the old procedures nor will I allow it. According to the promises made to our people, we will work day and night for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan. I am fully confident that if we continue to work hard like this, we will soon achieve the goals of progress, prosperity, and economic stability of Pakistan.

The cabinet meeting approved a 9-point agenda. The cabinet approved the reorganization of accountability courts, the appointment of a Federal Drug Inspector, a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Qatar Leiber, a 5-year policy for federal public-private partnership, and the approval of a bill for the National Institute for Modern Sciences. The decisions of the ECC were also endorsed.

The Prime Minister cautioned all ministers and bureaucrats that any inefficiency, incompetence, sluggishness, negligence, or delays in any phase of non-national investment projects, including Saudi Arabia, will not be tolerated. The cabinet also expressed displeasure over the failure to submit timely summaries to the Aviation Secretary.
